Haruka always makes sure I have a solid understanding before moving on to the next topic! If she feels like I don't fully understand her explanation, she makes a note to either find information to send me to explain it, or she makes sure to explain it in more detail the next lesson. I never feel like anything is overlooked. She's the best!

I had my trial class a few days ago and it was so fun. Haruka did an amazing job of making me feel comfortable speaking even if i didn't know very much. She was encouraging and very motivating!

I like the way that the lesson can be casual sometimes or formal sometimes. The lesson flow was always relaxing and easy to follow. At first I wanted to look for teachers who would not put so much pressure on me, and Mikko sensei definitely was the right teacher to choose!! Mikko sensei is a really encouraging and motivating sensei !! Recommended to all!

This week’s lesson was talking about the town we live in. I felt more confident in this class, even though I did get a few words wrong. I think my kanji learning has improved a little as I didn’t have to look at the hiragana for a lot of the kanji. Ken Sensei was patient with me as always.

We are continuing chapter 11 and asked each other about the hobbies. Sensei taught me the preposition between the noun and action verb. Moreover, how to express the positive and negative words on what I can do.

Hana Sensei is a great Japanese teacher and I highly recommend her, especially for beginners. We used a textbook in lessons, but she always adds more information when I ask questions. She is very patient and gives me lots of time to speak. She is very kind, smiles a lot and gives helpful comments. We also used Zoom whiteboard to practice writing characters, which was helpful for me as a beginner. I really enjoy learning with her! P.S. Today there was an earthquake on her side and it was scary :O She still came back on camera to continue the lesson... I really appreciate her commitment and care. I hope everything is ok for her and her family!

Able to lead meaningful conversations immersive in both Japanese and global cultural contexts. Goes above and beyond in her preparation, often taking the time to explore related topics outside of what is immediately seen in the lesson materials. Encourages students to take a proactive role in their learning! Highly recommended!

Kyoko-sensei has really helped me improve my confidence in speaking in Japanese. During my recent trip to Japan I was able to have conversations with locals and it really enhanced my enjoyment of my trip.

I’m extremely grateful for my Japanese language classes with Jun-san. Since I’m not living in Japan, I need to live speaking and listening practice to complement my reading self-studying of Japanese. Jun is a very patient instructor. She seems to know exactly how to get you to prompt you or coach you to come up with the response or grammar she is trying to teach. She takes notes on key elements so that you can review afterwards. Also, the notes are taken during the lesson so you can reinforce knowledge by seeing the written words or grammar. I love that she highlights the grammar elements that we are focusing on in each lesson. I highly recommend Jun as a Japanese language instructor. While not expected, she often stayed on extra minutes to finish up the lesson. I always look forward to her classes.

On Monday, Natsumi and I did a role play in a convenience store. As always, I enjoy our lesson as I am also getting better at making Japanese sentences. I felt really comfortable practising with you, and it helped me gain more confidence in speaking Japanese. With the encouragement from Teacher Mitsue, my daughter believes she can spark good Japanese even she has no Japanese environment and non of her friends and family know Japanese! What a great believe!

Sumire-sensei conducts free-talking sessions in Japanese on fun and useful everyday topics, making learning both enjoyable and practical. She kindly corrects my mistakes, which helps me a lot. I truly appreciate her guidance and support.

Thank you for letting me exercise my Japanese speaking. I feel like now that I know 'because' and 'but' and a few different 'and's, I can convey more complex ideas. However, I know I struggle a lot with language, so thank you for listening!

Momo is very organized and puts in a lot of effort adapting to my individual needs. For example, she knows that I already read and write mandarin, so there are plenty of words where she says the kanji character should clarify the meaning for me. We operate each lesson using a shared Google doc and Zoom, and the doc evolves as both class notes, follow up questions, a mini diary of mine to practice between lessons, and ultimately a learning resource I use to solidfy what we cover live. While Momo has a large library of various Japanese textbooks at the ready, she also incorporates customized content based on my interests. I mentioned I watch Japanses shows on Netflix using dual subtitles and she recommended a great series suitable to my level, and we also cover some differences between spoken Japanese and even Kansai dialect nuances. Another key advantage is her EU timezone. Whether I am in the US or Asia, we can still find suitable times for both of us. I will defintely continue my lessons.
