Hello! I’m Minjeong (민정) 😊
Thanks for visiting my profile! If you’re here, you must be interested in learning Korean. I know from my own experience that studying a language alone can feel confusing sometimes—you’re never quite sure if you’re on the right track. That’s why I’d love to be your guide and supporter in your Korean learning journey.
My passion for languages started early. As a child, I had a German pen pal, and through those letters I discovered how exciting it is to connect with someone in a different language and learn about a new culture. That experience made me realize that languages open doors to a wider world and create connections I could never have imagined. To me, languages are a wonderful way of building bridges between people and cultures. 🌍✨
This passion naturally led me to major in English Education at university. Since then, I’ve been teaching learners of all ages for over 7 years. My degree may be in English, but the skills I gained in linguistics and pedagogy directly support my Korean teaching. And because I’ve studied foreign languages myself, I know how to combine effective methods.
One of those languages is Japanese. What began as a simple hobby grew into business-level fluency through self-study, which eventually gave me the opportunity to work for three years at a well-known Japanese company. That experience not only sharpened my language ability but also gave me valuable insight into the real Japanese culture.
Beyond Japan, I’ve also lived abroad and traveled widely—including Europe, the U.S., Australia, and China. Each experience expanded my perspective and deepened my understanding of cultural diversity, something I always bring into my lessons. 😆
I would describe myself as lively, supportive, and curious. I love being outdoors, especially trekking and hiking. At home, I enjoy music, books, drawing and exploring a wide range of topics—such as history, cooking, coffee, travel, baseball, and interior design.
🔍About my lessons
My classes aim to be comfortable, no-stress, focused on understanding principles, and designed for natural acquisition through repetition.
(In addition, after every lesson I’ll send you a vocabulary practice link as homework, and at the beginning of each class we’ll always review the words learned from the previous session.)
💛 Basic Hangul & Pronunciation
▪️ Learn Korean consonants and vowels. Instead of pronouncing them through your native language, we’ll explore how Koreans naturally use their speech organs to produce sounds.
▪️ Practice writing Hangul beautifully by understanding the patterns of consonants and vowels.
▪️ Through dictation activities, you’ll also get used to listening to Korean sounds.
💚 Personalized 1:1 Language School
▪️ Recommended if you can already read Hangul but want to strengthen your foundation.
▪️ Perfect for learners who want long-term, step-by-step progress.
▪️ We’ll use structured textbooks covering vocabulary, expressions, grammar, reading, listening, writing, and speaking. Levels 1–4 are available (Levels 1–2 = beginner, Levels 3–4 = intermediate).
💙 Grammar Focus
▪️ If your grammar knowledge feels scattered, let’s reorganize it from the start.
▪️ Korean grammar has its own principles. Understanding them will make speaking and listening much easier than simple memorization.
▪️ We’ll use practice exercises and writing tasks to strengthen accurate grammar and sentence building skills.
💜 Reading & Writing (+ Feedback)
▪️ Ideal for learners who know a lot but want to refine their Korean to sound natural to native speakers.
▪️ We’ll use reading materials often used by Korean students to expand vocabulary and learn natural sentence structures.
▪️ You’ll write essays based on reading topics or your own chosen themes, and I’ll provide detailed feedback during class.
▪️ I’ll also share how a native speaker would phrase your writing so you can compare and learn.
🧡 1:1 Conversation Practice (+ Feedback)
▪️ Want to speak comfortably in a relaxed setting? You can use a translator or dictionary if needed—the focus is on producing as many sentences as possible. Don’t worry about mistakes; I’ll understand you perfectly.
▪️ After class, I’ll send feedback that includes: your original sentences, corrected versions, explanations, and additional dialogues and exercises for self-practice.
▪️ Conversation topics can be agreed upon beforehand or chosen by me. Sometimes we’ll even use short-form videos (like Shorts or Reels) as conversation prompts to match your interests.
